Small respite and large threats
A trip back in time on the Georgia coast... Threats to vulnerable communities... Trying to watch the other hand...
Out here, there are no helicopters overhead or police sirens, no scanner traffic and other noises of the city. It is peaceful here and blindingly dark at night, the island’s only street light some quarter mile away through thick woods and around bending, nameless roads that can disappear quickly if not used often.
I am grateful to be here after two weeks…
